Air cooled heat exchangers use ambient air to cool hot fluids or condense vapors (condenser), allowing processes to continue within the desired operating parameters. The hot liquid or vapor passes through a grid of tubes, and are cooled by outside air moving over them naturally or with the help of a motor driven fan.
One of the most common applications for this type of unit is oil cooling, where excess heat is removed from hot engine or hydraulic oil is cooled to maintain the temperature within the system.
Common materials used include copper and aluminum (efficient conductors of heat), as well as steel, composite, and other materials used in the frame, fan, shroud and other components.
Our air cooled heat exchangers are built to last in some of the most demanding process environments out there.
